On 06/11/2010, I had the good fortune to attend a very interesting lecture by Marco Ferrini (Matsya Avatara Dasa) about the divine Lila Govardhana Hill where Krishna, to protect your Dear devotees, and to correct the pride of Indra, placing it raises a whole hill on a little finger of his hand. This episode is outside any rational conception of the mind. Then I asked: what is really rational? Even in mathematics there are real numbers, rational numbers, etc. On them you can build an algebra or logic operations in which they lay down precise rules. In this logic, for example, you may want to define the operation "+" between two numbers: a + b. If a = 1 and b = 1 then we can define that a + b = 2. The interesting fact is that getting this kind of algebra is enough to explain the physical phenomena of the phenomenal world. For example, the numbers have been defined "imaginary" to help shape the world of frequencies and are widely used in telecommunications. In this new world number one is composed of two parts, a real part and an imaginary part z = a + jb, a is the real part and b imaginary part. The index "j" defines the transition between the real and the imaginary part. With these new numbers is necessary to define a new algebra where the operations have a different meaning than those defined on real numbers. The only real numbers are not sufficient to define the phenomena inherent in the telecommunications, since they can be with these "new issues" as defined by a new "logic". This "trick" to define new objects that can better shape the otherwise inexplicable physical phenomena is typical in science. So I wonder: why not accept a spiritual rationality? Rules that can define and explain something that the ordinary rationality can not explain, but which become understandable accepting certain assumptions. I look forward to comments and reflections to establish a useful debate on this issue.
